As we fight daily in our different battles. It may look like we’re surrounded but we’re surrounded by God. So keep faith and hope. Our Lord has allowed everything that happens to us for a reason. We are his children and can be assured that He is with us every step of the way!
In this Psalm, David was a fugitive running away from King Saul and he went to Gath, a Philistine city and narrowly escape death. In fact he had to pretend to be mad before Abimelech (1 Samuel 21:10-22:1) who drove him away thinking he is really mad. Thereafter he went into the cave of Adullam where many men who were in 3 Ds i.e. distressed suffering hardships, in debt, discontented with life were hiding. He became their captain and Psalm 34 seems to have been written from that cave and sung in the presence of those men.
This praise is continual and should also be what we must adopt in this time of challenges and crisis. don’t look at the troubles and be discouraged. Instead give God praise and God will not reject our offering of praise, adoration and thanksgiving. Instead He will continue to station His angels around us like what He did in David’s time and troubles almost 3000 years ago.
